About the cruise

Every winter, Amsterdam turns its canals into an open-air gallery. The Amsterdam Light Festival is back for its 15th edition, from 26 November 2026 to 17 January 2027, with light art by artists from all over the world. The artworks sit along and above the canals, so the best seat in the house is a boat.

Your own boat, your own crew

No shared tour boat, no strangers, no headset commentary. You book the whole boat, and both are heated:

  • Diana (up to 8 guests): our 1920s salon boat, lovingly restored and silent on electric power. Glass windows all around, a heater and blankets: a floating living room for couples and small teams.
  • Curaçao (up to 12 guests): our roomy historic boat, covered and heated. Soft cushions and space to stretch out: your own private lounge boat on the canals, made for families, friends and bigger teams.

The route

We sail the official festival route past the artworks, the same route on every cruise. Your skipper is a born-and-raised Amsterdammer who tells you what you're looking at, plus a few canal stories along the way.

Drinks and bites

There's a pay-per-drink bar on board (beer, wine, soft drinks) at normal café prices, or bring your own for a small corkage fee. Add a bites box or a cheese or charcuterie platter when you book, and it's waiting on board.

Good to know

The cruise takes 1.5 hours and leaves at 17:00, 19:00 or 21:00, when the artworks are lit and it's properly dark. We board at Brouwersgracht, opposite no. 64 (at the jetty). Prices start at €310 for the whole boat, not per person.
